We are excited to announce that The Scout Association has partnered with The British Army. The British Army are sponsoring the Scout Mechanic badge and are passionate about engaging young people in STEM activities and are champions of 'learning by doing'.

As the third largest employer in the UK, the British Army has a huge occupation structure that spans the recruitment and training of dozens of career routes, such as chefs, musicians, engineers, communication specialists, drivers, animal carers, teachers and mechanics.

Scout's Army Mechanic Day

To celebrate the launch our partnership, the Army are hosting a Scouts Takeover Day at MoD Lyneham on the 28th April 2018 to earn their Scout Mechanics Badge. Scouts will learn from professional REME engineers and will perform the badge practical tasks on a variety of Army equipment, including tanks and helicopters!

We hope that the Scouts who attend this event will leave enthusiastic about engineering and will be inspired for a career in STEM!

It will cost £2 per young person, leaders are free of charge.
